Number 8 of 12 illustrations created for West End Games D6 System RPG. This and all others credited to the project are licensed to WEG and are displayed with permission. This also the second of my "Spell Design" images. The concept was to show a mage (male or female, any Human race or alien species, any genre) designing or creating a spell related to the topic. In this case, an Elementalist. Being a good Sagittarian I was of course favorable to Fire, and as I'd been drawing a lot of female characters lately I chose to make this one male. My concept of the fire mage glass worker was inspired by one of my own RPG characters (from another game system not produced by WEG so I won't advertise them here), a Fire-based sorceress that makes her living as a glass merchant (and yes, I do plan to post character portraits of her in my personal character gallery). For this illustration however, I decided to let the mage's salamander buddy help out, simply because I happen to like fire-breathing lizards. | |
