Yes please. For the time being, I'll allow the choice of either simply "HeatherWind Designs" or
"A. K. * Genevra * Brown" provided they link to my studio URL: www.heatherwind.com .
I realize it's going to be an odd transition to some, but a necessary one. While I would love folks to just
segue right into "Genevra", if I don't allow some lead time for fans to adjust, I run the risk of people
misunderstanding and sending me nasty-grams accusing me of stealing my own work since the names don't match
what they remember.
So yes, if you or your group have used my art in past for sig graphics, I would greatly appreciate it
if you would please take a moment to update your copyright info. Thanks in advance!

Although I do elaborate more on allowed use in my answers below, I've been asked this enough
times to warrant a special update on its own.
Yes, I do allow my work to be used for custom PSP signature graphics, stationery, and icons
under the conditions listed below. Please note that this does NOT include individual PSP Tubes,
however, since Tubes are much harder to track to their source than other graphics. :
- Your website MUST be non-profit. Commercial sites must have a use-license to
use my images legally - this includes adding them to graphics / clip art collections. If
you own a commercial site and are interested in using my images,
contact me and we can discuss terms.
- You also still need to contact me and ask permission,
if for no other reason than so that I can keep track of who is showing my
work. Further, it's important to let me know which images you want to use,
as some of the work in my gallery has had their copyrights purchased by the client and I
am not authorized to allow further distribution beyond my own portfolios. I do label the
images on their respective pages, but it still bears repeating.
Please do not assume that "I'll use it here and she'll never know", because I very likely
will find out. I am a member of several online artist's rights protection groups and artist's
networks and we look after our own. I hate to be a wench about that but this is my livelihood, so
if unauthorized use becomes rampant after this warning, I will sadly have no choice but to revoke
all permissions. Please play nice.
- Yes, I will allow backgrounds to be removed for the sake of the signature file -
HOWEVER I do ask that the central image be recognizably maintained. That means that while
I don't mind animated sparkles or the like, please do not completely chop up the image
or draw mustaches on my mermaids or things like that. :)
- Proper credit to me as the MUST be included on the image -
copyrighting the source art to me and a link back to the studio at www.heatherwind.com. It
won't compromise the signature, and is a small courtesy for the sake of free use of the art.
Please also make sure to please list my name as A. K. Brown or Amy K. Brown
as opposed to simply Amy Brown to avoid confusion with other artists.
Finally, when you contact me with your request, please do not include large image samples with
the email. With all the viruses and nasty things roaming the net I do not accept large unexpected
image attachments, even from close family and friends. I would hate to see good work go to waste,
so if you have samples you'd like me to see, please post them to a public view webpage (not a "member's
only" site page please) so I can easily view them.
That's all I can think of at the moment. If you have any further questions concerning tube /
signature art specifically, please contact me and I'll be happy to help as best as I can.

Yes, so long as you and make sure to read and meet the following simple conditions:
- Your website MUST be non-profit. Commercial sites must have a use-license to
use my images legally - this includes adding them to graphics / clip art collections. If
you own a commercial site and are interested in using my images,
contact me and we can discuss terms.
- If you do use my images, do not modify them beyond proportional resizing!
I can understand if it's too big for your page, but please don't warp it out of recognition,
and especially do not remove my signature marks. I created these images at a certain size
and they're meant to stay that way.
- Please do NOT link directly to my images. It's called bandwidth theft, it slows down
your server and mine, it CAN be tracked, and it costs everyone in the end. Instead,
just right click and save to your own hard drive, then upload to your own server (or transload
it to your site for you WebTV users).
- Usage on a webpage according to these terms specifically does NOT transfer any
license for use to a hosting ISP or any other web service (such as Yahoo/Geocities, Xoom, etc.)
- You must have a "© Amy K. Brown / HeatherWind Designs" on any page
you display my art, preferably with a link back to http://www.heatherwind.com.
NOTE: It is important to include the "K" initial, as there is another artist named Amy Brown, and I wish proper
credit given where it's due.
- Lastly, if you would like to add a link to my studio (either by text link with the image,
or using one of my banners, that would be spiffy too!

If it is for NON-profit, personal use only, yes, and if it is used sparingly.
For publications (newsgroups, newsletters, etc.) please contact me
first. I like to know who is using my artwork in print, even if it is for a non-profit organization.
And mention of my name and URL in that instance is very much a requirement.

Absolutely! I'm extremely honored when people feel so strongly about one of my pieces that
they wish to have such a permanent representation of it created. If you have a tattoo made,
I'd love to see a picture of the finished result! Send me a photo, and I may display it on
the website (depending on where you've put it! :)
One important note, however. While I don't mind tattoos being made of individual pieces,
this does NOT give license for tattoo artists to offer the images commercially without
obtaining my permission first. If the online graphics collections don't get to use them
that way, I can't allow it offline either. Please play nice and
get my permission first.

No, thank you. It's taken me a long time and a lot of effort to design, color coordinate
and construct graphics to make my site as unique as possible. They define my site and were
carefully chosen to represent me and my tastes. If you want your website to be unique as well,
I suggest you also take the time to create or purchase your own. In the end, it's well worth it.
