She is a proud member of The Association of
Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (ASFA), a founding member of
The Illuminator's Guild of Roleplaying Character Artists, and in February, 2003 she had the pleasure of being Artist Guest of Honor
at Capricon XXIII in Chicago.
Her art style favors bold colors, blending high fantasy and modern graphic design,
with special interest in Celtic knotwork, medieval and modern fantasy settings, mythological
creatures, esoteric themes, and non-human races. She loves to experiment with multi-media, and
will often combine traditional and digital mediums to achieve the desired results, namely graphite
pencil, watercolor and oil pencils, inks (both brush and pen), acrylics, and
digital painting with her much-loved WACOM tablet.
Amy has a tremendous passion for history, mythology and ancient cultures, and celebrating her Celtic heritage.
In 1990 she joined the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA),
where she could explore all her creative interests at once in her persona of Lady Genevra de Brus: a late 12th
century Norman-Scot minstrel, herald (book and field), waterbearer and scribe.
It was in the SCA that Amy found her greatest creative Inspiration and the love of her life, and in June 1995
she
married her best friend and Champion,
Clint Brown
(aka Squire Killian Bloodstorm), and by April 1996 the
Brown clan welcomed a new member: a vivacious son they named
Duncan Liam.
The Browns will celebrate 10 wonderful years of marriage in June 2005.
